Users Settings

Desktop Lock supports multiple users. You can specify how to apply the configuration to user accounts in the Windows system.

What does it mean exactly when a user is excluded?

Firstly, you can always manually lock the system for any user account by clicking the Lock Now button or using the /Lock switch in command line, even if the user has been excluded by user settings.

Settings such as lock mode, unlock hotkey, unlock password, banner, background, media, paintbrush, and most advanced options remain applicable to those excluded users.

Excluding a user actually disables the auto-lock and auto-unlock features for that user, such as lock hotkey, schedule, startup lock, and idle lock.

Apply settings to all users

This is the default setting. Configuration applies to all users, so Desktop Lock will work for all user accounts. For instance, if you configure it to lock the system at startup, Desktop Lock will automatically lock the system for every user logging in.

Apply settings only to selected users

Configuration applies only to the users you selected in the list box below. The auto-lock and auto-unlock features will not function for users not included in the list.

Apply settings to all but selected users

Opposite to the above, configuration applies only to the users that are not in the list. The auto-lock and auto-unlock features will not work for users in the list.
