Media Settings
You can designate a video or audio file to be played while the system is locked. Please note
that the video will only be displayed on the primary monitor if your system is equipped with
multiple monitors.
Media file
To specify a media file, select 🗁 Browse in the dropdown
box. If you don't want the locked system to play any media, select
None.
Video fit mode
This setting determines how the video component of the media file is displayed. If you
opt for an audio file, this setting will not apply.
- Hide -- Only the audio component will be played; the video component will be invisible.
- Fit -- This is the default setting. The video will fill the main monitor either
horizontally or vertically while preserving its original aspect ratio. Some portions of the video
may not occupy the left and right sides or the top and bottom edges.
- Stretch -- The video will be stretched to cover the entire screen of the main monitor.
This may alter the aspect ratio of the video, potentially leading to distortion.
Additional options
- Loop -- Playback will restart upon reaching the end of the media.
- Mute -- Audio will not be played. If the media is a video file, it will play without
sound; if it is an audio file, no playback will occur.
- Enable Control -- This option allows playback control using the mouse: left-click to
pause or resume, right-click to restart from the beginning, and use the mouse wheel to adjust the
audio volume. Please note that this option only applies to video files, as control must be
executed within the video playback window.
While media settings function across all lock modes, the playback of media
varies depending on the current lock mode, media type, and playback options:
- Audio files, as well as the audio components of video files, will be played in all lock modes
unless the option Mute is enabled.
- If the "video fit mode" is set to Hide, the video component of a
video file will not be played in any lock mode.
- Only the lock modes "Screen", "Desktop", and "Clear" allow for video playback on the screen.
The lock modes "System" and "App" do not provide a surface for video playback, resulting in the
video component being hidden regardless of the "video fit mode" setting.
- The lock mode "Screensaver" is actually capable of playing the video component; however, once
the screensaver is activated, the video will be obscured by the screensaver.
