Use this option to control the auto-locking behavior during user login.
Don't auto-lock at startup.
Always auto-lock at startup.
If the locked system was forcibly rebooted or logged off before it was explicitly unlocked, Desktop Lock will automatically restore the lock state upon the next user login; this is referred to as "keep locking."
Windows is designed to be able to always shutdown/reboot the computer or log off the current user, by pressing the system-level hotkey Ctrl+Alt+Del. This functionality cannot and should not be blocked, even when the system is locked by Desktop Lock.
As a last resort, a user may disconnect the power cable to force a shutdown.
Since it is not feasible to prevent all system shutdowns or reboots, Desktop Lock includes this feature to automatically re-lock the system, thereby preventing the lock from being bypassed.
This differs from : the system will only re-lock automatically if it had not been previously unlocked. There are occasions when you may not require the system to lock at every startup, but rather wish to maintain the lock state only if the computer was not explicitly unlocked.
When the system is idle -- has no activity such as mouse or keyboard input -- for the specified interval in minutes, it will be auto-locked.
Record Desktop Lock events in the log file. You may access the log file by clicking the button located next to this option.
When this option is enabled, a icon will appear on the left side of the function bar on locked screen, which can be clicked to leave messages.
Messages are stored as plain text within a dedicated message file. While the "Leave a message" window supports multi-line input, the text is consolidated into a single line during the saving process, with CRLF characters converted into spaces.
If new messages are recorded while the system is locked, Desktop Lock will prompt you to review them once the system is unlocked. You may also use the button next to this option to open the message file at any time.
When this option is enabled, a icon appears on the right side of the function bar on locked screen, allowing the user to shut down the computer by clicking it.
This shutdown process will not occur immediately. A countdown period is provided to allow the user the opportunity to cancel the action.
If this option is enabled, Desktop Lock will attempt to hide the mouse cursor while the system is locked.
However, the cursor is only hidden when it is on the frozen screen, background color/image, or video window. Consequently, this feature only functions with the lock modes "Screen", "Desktop", and "Clear". The cursor also will not be hidden when it is over interfaces that require cursor visibility, such as the message window, password window, function bar, etc.
